From the S.D.D.J. model and from the experiments it seems that the optical excitation of molecules like indole or phenol can release an H atom. what will append to the H atom in liquid? it might lead to the formation of a H3O radical which from ab initio calculation should have an absorption band similar to the one of the solvated electron!! that might explain many things an interesting discussion can be found in the web site of Dr. Francis Muguet |
